There is good news for all the going to be medical graduates as the secondary education of the central board has released the NEET 2017 Application Form. This exam is conducted in the national level as the medical entrance for the undergraduate courses by all the medical colleges. The NEET is abbreviated as the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test and this examination is expected to be in the 1st week of May.

Why to Attend NEET Examination:

It is based on the results of the NEET 2017, all the government, deemed and as well other private and the dental hospitals are providing admissions for the nest academic year. The registrations will be started from 2nd week of December 2016. This examination is conducted in the offline mode as usual.

Interesting Facts about NEET:

Previously there used to be the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) and it is based on the instructions of the Supreme Court in 2016, in the 2017 the central board of secondary education has started to conduct the NEET. This is the centralized national level medical entrance examination and every start will be conducted counseling separately to fill up the seats that are available in their region.

There is no need to write different examinations and this is a splendid chance for the students to get the seats in the best colleges or as per their interests. All the medical institutes are appreciating this new decision and method as the process of conducting examinations all over the nation will become simpler now.

  • The numbers of seats that are offered with this examination are 52,305 MBBS and BDS.
  • As previous other examinations, the mode of the exam is off line and the examination is for 3 hours.
  • The examination is about the multiple choice questions which are up to 180 in number and these have just one right answer for each question.
  • The aspects which are included here are general knowledge, physics, chemistry and biology.
  • The qualifying percentage is about 50 percentile for the general category and as well 40 percentile for the reserved category and then 45 percentile for the PwD category.

The online application forms are proved from 2nd week of December 2016. The medical aspirants can submit the form by 2nd week of January 2017. The admit card will be provided by 1st week of April 2017 and the entrance examination will be tentatively in 1st week of May 2017. Post the examination the OMR sheets and the answer keys will be released by 2nd and 4th weeks of may respectively. The results are expected to be out by 1st week of June and then the counselling will be held in the 3rd and 5th weeks of June. So it is by end of June even the second round counselling will be completed.


Note this Application Fees:

The application fees for this medical examination is about Rs.1400 for the general OBC category and it is Rs. 750 for the SC/ST/PH. There are some 25 states which are participating in this examination and those who gets qualified can choose their desired college based on the availability of seats. However, the institutes namely the all India institute of medical science and as well the Jawaharlal institute of medical education and research are exempted and they are conducting their own medical entrance examination.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The individual who wish to write this examination must have the Indian nationality.
  • The students must be 17 years old by the time they submit the admission or by December 31st
  • The maximum age limits for the reserved categories is up to 30 years while for the general category it is up to 25 years.
  • Students who have passed BSc or 10+2 with chemistry, physics, biology, English and mathematics can be also eligible to write this examination.
  • In these examination the students must get at least 50 percentage of marks and it is reduced to 40 percentages for the reserved candidates.

All these are the primary requirements and those who have are not eligible for the above conditions are not allowed to attempt the NEET examination.
