Here‘s a guide on how to write good posts so that your readers will like and trust you as an expert. It‘s no good generating traffic to your blog if the content bores your readers to death.

When writing a post, you‘re writing for two parties:  your readers and the search engines.

The aim is to write content focusing on keywords so that the post will rank well on the search engines, while at the same time not letting your readers know your intention.

If a person reads your post and finds that you are deliberately putting keywords in places that are jarring or make the content sound odd, you will lose credibility immediately.

The way to circumvent this is to write for the reader first and then, afterwards, judge where you can insert your desired keywords in the content.

If you are struggling to place keywords in your content without affecting the flow, then forget about the keywords altogether. Your focus should always be to deliver quality content.

Your first task is to create a list of desirable keywords. The Google keyword tool is an excellent tool to use in order to find a suitable list of keywords for ranking.

Start off by choosing one or two main keywords that have a lot of competition. For example, ―secondhand cars‖ or ―wedding photos.‖ Then choose an additional 20 keywords that are:

– related – do not have that much competition

If the main keyword you have chosen is ―article marketing,‖ write several good posts that focus on that keyword.

For the rest of your posts, focus on other keywords. It is a good idea to focus on writing for one keyword per post. Your aim is to rank for these keywords and slowly build up traffic so that you are ranking high for your main keywords.

The more posts you write, the more chances there are of people finding your blog on the search engines.

Create a title that is interesting and makes your readers curious enough to want to click on it to read more.

This is like the headline on the front cover of a magazine. The more alluring the headline, the more people want to buy it to read the content.


The introduction should identify a problem or challenge which people are facing and explain why you are writing the post.

The aim of the introduction is to build excitement so that the reader will want to continue reading.

Your points and appearance

When you explain the meat of your content, try to list out your argument or tips with bold sub-headlines.

This will break up the content and make it more pleasing for the eye to read. It will also let readers scan your content to see if it is worth reading.

Nobody wants to read big blocks of text and huge paragraphs. Therefore, it is a good idea to write in short paragraphs, insert sub-headlines, add images and use bullet points where possible.

This simple trick will make visitors stay on your blog longer and actually read your content.

Your call to action

If you have an action that you want your readers to take, make sure you place it at the end of the post.

Remind them to ―click here to download the report‖ or ―click here to purchase your product.‖ Since this is the last sentence of your post, they are more likely to take action.

You can put this call to action both in the middle and at the end of your post.

Deliver content With every one of your posts, focus on two things for the reader:

– Delivering content that he will find useful or revealing. – Entertaining him. He should find it fun to read your posts.

If the majority of your posts are quality ones that people want to read, you will get a slew of visitors just by word of mouth. There‘s no stopping it.

Pavlina didn‘t do anything to promote his blog yet it is extremely popular because he gave quality content away and people talked about him.

Always think about how you can provide value for your readers and not what you can gain. That is how blogs succeed.

Search Engine Optimization

Once you are done with your  post, proofread again and again to avoid grammar and spelling mistakes. Now try to optimized your article with keywords. Avoid keyword stuffing, if you aren’t able to insert keyword in the article don’t try just 2 or 3 keywords is enough. If possible place atleast one keywords in the title of the post.

Insert your keyword in both the first and last sentences of your post. You will probably repeat the keywords a few times in the middle of the post without trying and that‘s fine. Just don‘t try and overdo it with keyword stuffing.

With your sub-headlines, use related keywords, if possible. Search engines pay attention to keywords that are bolded. So use sub-headlines where possible.

Choose one of the keywords in your post and link it to your product page or another post that is related. This will give the search engines a better sense of how to rank your post by keywords.

Final Check

Last and most important, always check your final post to see if you have delivered value and have not negatively affected the post in any way by search engine optimizing it.
For example, if your title is affected significantly by inserting your keyword, then remove your keyword. Write for humans first and only then for the search engines.
