I’m Kamlesh, a software engineer who has spent more than fourteen years building web and mobile products for startups and growing businesses.

In 2019 I co-founded Digital Web Weaver, a studio that designs and ships software for clients in India, South Africa, the UK and the US. I split my time between Vadodara and Pretoria, which means someone on the team is usually awake when a client needs us.

My approach to a hard problem is to reproduce it, shrink it until it fits on one screen, and fix the cause. I write down what I learn along the way, so the next person who meets the same bug finds the answer waiting.

Outside work I mentor junior developers through local meetups and write about the problems worth remembering on my blog.

02 how I work

The same function, every hard problem

  1. reproduce()

    Make it happen on demand

    If I can’t reproduce a problem, I can’t prove I fixed it. This step comes first, every time.

  2. shrink()

    Cut it down to one screen

    I remove everything that isn’t the problem until the cause has nowhere left to hide.

  3. fix()

    Fix the cause, not the symptom

    A patch that hides the error comes back. I fix the reason it happened.

  4. writeItDown()

    Leave notes for the next person

    Every fix ends with a short write-up, so the team never solves the same problem twice.
